The History Department at the McNamara School is the largest and most experienced department. Since the main influence is on the Humanities, History and historical studies are cornerstones to the curriculum. Derek Greene is the department chair and has taught for over two decades in various educational settings. The courses offered at the McNamara School in the Department of History range from seminars on specific historical events (Holocaust Seminar, Civil War Seminar, Cold War Seminar, etc.), courses on time periods (European History since 1600, America in the 20th Century, etc.), and courses on history of regions and countries (American History, European History, Asian Studies, etc.). The History Department is a very dynamic and strong department at the McNamara School and continues to be on the cutting edge of historical research and analysis.
